A new addition to the household

We have recently acquired a new roommate, a feline by the name of Sammy. Sammy is a gentle-cat, always sporting a tuxedo which he keeps in immaculate condition. He is polite, affectionate, and likes to spend most of the day sleeping under our bed. We don't know exactly how old he is, but his sedate habits and greying fur seem to indicate that he's a cat of fairly advanced years. We got him with the help of a wonderful lady who does cat rescue, who I found through a friend of a co-worker. She has something like sixty cats that she tends to, and when she mentioned Sammy he seemed like a perfect fit, and so far our newly-expanded household does seem to be working out just fine. I will post a picture of him as soon as he stays in one place long enough for me to take one.

In other news, Air is finally over, and what a roller coaster ride that was! That show was part of my life for about six months, almost as long as I've been in Austin, and it's very strange to be here and not have a rehearsal or show to go to. I do have some other projects on the horizon, including two collaborative works still in the planning/workshop stages and a one-woman show I'm directing for a friend, but nothing imminent. It's nice to have a semi-vacation, but I'm also itching to get back into the theatrical rhythm again.

Also, it's heating up down here! Everyone is saying to enjoy the blissful 80-degree weather now, because inside of a month it's going to be solidly in the 90's or hotter, apparently. Woo hoo...?

I think that's it for now! Austin continues to be a wonderful, weird, wacky, exciting, artistic adventure, always with a new surprise waiting or a new fun activity or foodstuff to try. I'm just taking it all in, and having a blast while I'm at it! :)
